From kitchen to living room – it’s just a few steps...
We are in a typically Parisian 110m2 apartment with white walls, wonderfully high ceilings and chevron parquet on the floors. Despite the lovely Parisian style chic, the ageing bathroom fittings and materials used caused us to modify the premises, ready for a comic-crazy family. The watchwords for our approach: designer “recycled chic”, workshop, loft, comfort, sustainable.
We worked to highlight their passion and its artistic side, to give both charm and added soul to this high-potential apartment.
Around totally assumed strong colours such as greenery green, we used materials such as raw concrete, a raw material to which we brought fineness and poetry, mineral bathroom fittings in Carrara marble, shiny glass and grained wood with its knots, to build a decor with a variety of influences, all sublimated by a touch of design: the collections of these fans, such as a pinball machine, arcade sign, etc. are shown off alongside iconic objects from great design creators: a TACCIA model FLOS lamp, a SUNBURST CLOCK by VITRA, accessories by 5.5 DESIGNERS, ALESSI utensils, SPOON chairs, GUY DEGRENNE tableware...
The MARVEL inspired look, based on the artistic design currents of the sixties, breathes with paradoxically simplistic creativity.
Here graphic art is omnipresent, decorated with an XXL size print signed Soraya DEFFAR, used as a visual at the corner between the corridor and the living room for an even better graphic effect visible from the entrance hall to this apartment and creating the illusion of a larger space.
To link the spaces and work more with the lighting we eliminated the load-bearing partition that separated the living room and the kitchen. The kitchen now has a view onto the living room and an island that crosses through means that the various spaces can be enjoyed as if we were at a friendly 4m long bar. The changes made to these partitions meant that we could bring in direct lighting and work on the resulting fallout, playing with the various ceiling heights.
In the living room note a more comfortable area: leather armchairs are given mismatched cushions in a variety of different textures, highlighted with bright, resolutely “pop” colours. A few accessories are scattered around sparingly.
Comfortably installed choose to watch your favourite cartoons on a small screen, or why not use the built-in video projector.
A fun ambiance in which to soak up the art of comics in its various, finely calculated versions.
